The BCCRC,
was created in june 1989 to unite the Rover owners living in France, as
well as owners of other classic british makes, less spread in France, but
sharing the same way of life. So, quickly the "Rover
Club of France" became the "British
Classic Cars & Rover Club" and grew up, welcoming
Rovers et Land- Rovers, but also Bristols,
(pre 1963) Daimlers, Jensens,
Sunbeam-Talbots, Vanden Plas
and step-sisters from Austin-Princess and also
a rare Armstrong-Siddeley. Our club does not
cater for all the british makes (Triumph, MG , Jaguar, etc. have their own
club) but does for more confidential models for which he stands as a make
club and of course for Rover, representing 85%
of the total strength.
since 2001 : an Austin-Princess
& Vanden Plas section
Our aims are :
To Unite the french owners
and enthusiasts of the aforementionned makes.
To Inform, unite and entertain
the club members through a quarterly magazine opened to all. Newsletters
(from 6 to 10 yearly) complete it in order to stick to the actuality.
To Maintain permanent contacts
with the "Home" and the other european clubs in order to face technical
problems and organize international gatherings.
To Help maintenance and restauration
of our cars.
To Emphasize the british makes
who, from our point of view, do not benefit of the place they deserve
in the french classic car world. We contribute significantly to the publication
of many articles and profiles in the automotive press about the Rover
P4-P5-P6, Sunbeam-Talbot, Jensen, Riley, VDP 3-litre, Daimler SP250. Not
forgetting the mythical 1965 Le Mans Rover-BRM we displayed on our stand
at the 1995 Rétromobile show (where we are present every year for
10 years).
We are proud to have survived since 1989, considering the small number we
do represent and our financial independance. Let me also mention the true
friendship we have built between us, certainly not the least of our achievements.
